Tim
I am still amazed that this lad from a small farming community in rural Minnesota has just celebrated 25 years of life in England. Loving and listening to Jesus has been an adventure which has led to living in Japan, Oregon (where I met and married Tammy), Arizona, Tennessee, and Virginia prior to our move to England in 1994. I grew up playing ice hockey in my native state and recently transitioned from playing recreationally to learning the art and science of refereeing.
Besides our local work with Companions for Hope, I bring leadership to building and catalysing teams that develop leaders, start new community change initiatives, and plant communities of Jesus followers.
I am especially attracted to how Jesus embraced and challenged the people he met with a mixture of grace, truth, and humor. I seek to bring these values into all my relationships.

Tammy
Like Tim, I am amazed at the journey we have been on together for almost 36 years. And we love our life in this corner of Birmingham with its rich diversity of people and cultures. Unlike Tim, you won’t see me at the ice rink! Still, you will find us doing many things together with young adults, discipleship groups, church and community leaders, neighbours, and teams of various kinds where we bring life experience for coaching and mentoring.
For me, Companions for Hope is a way of living together in this community that models the best of what God intends for people. Apart from our local team, I lead another team of families to think strategically about their local and regional leadership roles in community transformation.
For rest and relaxation I like watching a movie with Tim while playing solitaire or doing counted cross-stitch. On occasion, a joint ride on the motorbike seeing new scenery is enjoyable, but not in the cold! Of course, chatting with our adult children in America is a weekly must.
